AJ is a passionate creative and innovative thinker. His love and community spirit for the Hawaiian Islands—his birthplace and home—led him to the founding of Hamajang Studio.
With his sensitive, thoughtful, and communicative approach, AJ makes the design process both inspiring and fun. He starts by building a personal relationship with each client. Then, with both diligent research and collaborative problem-solving, he transforms abstract ideas into three-dimensional reality. His expertise in the architectural design process brings out the best in all team members, resulting in simple and elegant design solutions.
AJ’s diverse body of work includes many award-winning buildings, ranging from single and multi-family residences, high-use urban plazas, and large airport facilities.
